The Barnhisel House & Museum School Tours, 2016

Each year, The Barnhisel House & Museum is host to many bus loads of area fourth graders, who come to us for a fun-filled day of learning. The children get a hands on tour of the house, as well as several exhibits on the grounds of the house. We are thankful for everyone who helps make this happen each year. We are looking forward to the 2016 School Tour season.

School Tours 2016 are next week!

Our 2016 Season, Sharing the Spotlight!

The 2016 Season at the Barnhisel House & Museum is fast approaching. Our theme for this season is a sports theme and we are looking for vintage photographs or vintage sports memorabilia to be on display in our in house museum room, The Carlton Room. If you have anything you would like to share with us, to be put on display from May through December at the Barnhisel House, you may send a message to us in the comments below,  and we will get back to you as soon as we can to set up a time to meet. We are hoping the community will rally 'round us and share the wonderful memorabilia your family has tucked away in the attic. Sporting equipment, old uniforms, programs, photographs etc. will be gladly accepted, however, we do ask that they be from our area, including nearby communities. The house has a security system and your items will be safe with us. Thank you. We can't wait to see the amazing things you come up with!

Holiday Memories, 2015

With the 2015 Christmas Season far behind us, and plans the upcoming 2016 season begun, We thought we would share a few memories from our 2015 Christmas season. There was spiced cider warming, homemade cookies and a warm fire to be shared. There was a rocking chair by the fire, and a room for gathering to share in the joy of the season. If you were really lucky, you visited on a day when Ray made popcorn in the fire. Thank you to everyone who visited and to all the volunteers who made the season possible. The season was a huge success. We are already looking forward to next year.
